She has a strong passion for international relations and trade. Her interests also extend to exploring ways to promote stronger business ties between Thailand and Sweden. During her three-month internship at SweCham, Garn will take on the role of Media and Communications intern for which she is eager to gain deeper insight into Swedish Culture and leverage this experience to enhance her understanding of international business dynamics. The event brought together members, friends, and partners from both Thailand and Sweden to commemorate this significant milestone. . The special night started with President, Anders Lundquist, who highlighted the chamber's growth and the support it has received from both Thai and international members. He also recounted a memorable moment from the inauguration of their chamber, attended by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia at the former Siam Intercontinental Hotel: ‘the King humorously remarked that he found their logo "not sexy enough." Years later, I had the opportunity to remind the King of this comment during a meeting in a church garden in Thailand. The King, surprised, asked, "Did I really say that?"’ confirming the amusing anecdote. . The President of the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce, who is serving his third term, was honored at the 30th anniversary gala. He highlighted the contributions of other founding members and explained the gala's theme, which was inspired by the Nobel Gala Dinner: “This is a noble way to honour Alfred Nobel, arguably one the most famous Swedes of all times, and whose generous will was the origin of the prizes.” . Overall, guests enjoyed a delightful evening filled with networking, exquisite cuisine, and entertainment, underscoring the enduring friendship and strong partnership between Thailand and Sweden. . On Thursday, 22 August, SweCham had a fantastic meeting with the Electrolux Professional team. We were thrilled to learn more about their innovative approach to sustainable professional appliances. Electrolux Professional, a division of the Electrolux Group, specialises in high-quality, durable equipment for the hospitality, healthcare, and food service industries, focusing on Business-to-Business (B2B) services. Their product range includes everything from commercial laundry machines and dishwashers to professional ovens and refrigeration units. . Khun Tommaso Origo, Managing Director, delivered a captivating presentation, showcasing the impressive features of the state-of-the-art Electrolux Professional plant in Rayong, Thailand. As the largest Electrolux Professional plant in Southeast Asia, it is a testament to the company's commitment to the region. Khun Tommaso graciously guided us through the facility, where we witnessed the production of a wide range of commercial washers and dryers. The plant is equipped with advanced technology to ensure efficiency and sustainability, reflecting Electrolux Professional's dedication to environmental responsibility. We are truly grateful for Khun Tommaso's time and hospitality. . Again, we are deeply grateful to Khun Tommaso Origo for his warm hospitality and insightful guidance.
